I graduated from Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy in 1994. I am very grateful for the education I received there. I left school wanting to learn more about Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT). I had been told several years before that I needed Carpal Tunnel surgery. I had no feeling in the tips of the first three fingers of my right hand. I struggled through school, not being able to feel for tendons with my fingers. A fellow student and I were practicing NMT work for the neck on each other. The scalene muscles in my neck were very tight and it was pretty uncomfortable to have them worked on but when they were loosened up, I immediately got the feeling back in my fingers. The scalene muscles can trap the nerves of the hand and arm. I was so amazed; I left school and started studying with Paul St. John, and have been studying with him ever since. I was certified in St. John Neuromuscular Therapy in 1997.
I have been a member of The American Massage Therapy Association since 1994. I have a National Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork since1994. I am a Certified Rebirther and Bach Flower Consultant. I worked with Elizabeth Eckert, CNMT & author, at Wellness Images from 1994 until she moved to North Dakota in Feb. of 2001, when I started Neuromuscular Wellness Center, Inc.
In 2000 I had the privilege to participate with Paul St John and Elizabeth in a migraine study at Henry Ford Hospital. What a tremendous opportunity that was. We learned so much about headaches that has helped me to be much more effective in my work.
